At BPU, community isn’t just where we work—it’s who we are. As a not-for-profit utility, we go beyond providing reliable services by investing in programs that uplift families, empower youth, and strengthen Wyandotte County.
Supporting Those in Need
Life happens, and we’re here to help. In 2024, BPU dedicated $625,000 to financial assistance programs, supporting up to 1,500 local households. From flexible payment options to hardship assistance, we provide resources to keep homes powered and water flowing.
Empowering Future Leaders
We’re shaping the next generation through hands-on learning and career development:
- Summer Youth Program – Provides job training and real-world experience to hundreds of young people.
- 20/20 Leadership – Equips high school students with leadership and life skills.
- Touch-A-Truck Events – Inspires young learners by showcasing our utility vehicles and teaching where energy and water come from.
BPU Charity Golf Tournament
Since 1992, our Charity Golf Tournament has raised nearly $850,000 for local children’s charities. In 2024 alone, it generated $65,000, proving that a great day on the course can create lasting change.
The 2025 tournament is set for Saturday, September 13 at 7:00 AM at Dub’s Dread Golf Course—and registration is now open!
