New HomeServe App Available for BPU Customers

(KANSAS CITY, Kan.) — BPU has partnered with HomeServe to bring BPU customers a new tool to help simplify how they manage all the appliances and gadgets in their homes.

Homeownership isn’t always easy. Whether it’s an appliance breaking, a heating or cooling system needing repair or trying to remember when to replace a filter, a home always needs attention. Juggling to keep things working and organized so that the household runs smoothly just comes with the territory.

But with this new app, BPU customers can simplify homeownership by putting home- related items at their fingertips. From all the major appliances to the important systems in your home to what paint color is on the living room walls, the App puts it all in one place – neat and tidy – with just the snap of a picture.

BPU customers can install the app by going to https://hsapp.com/KansasCityHome, signing up for an account and downloading the app onto their mobile device. Then, find out how to get your home organized so you can discard all those user manuals, manufacturer warranties and receipts. Simply snapping a picture of the serial number for any of your appliances, devices or gadgets will access owner’s manuals, replacement parts, how-to videos, and more. Plus, the app will even notify you when manufacturers issue safety recalls. This app will be your virtual portfolio of your home.

Since 2016, The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS (UG) have partnered with HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home repair service solutions, to offer home repair service plans.
