BPU to Conduct Special Session
A street corner during the day. It's the junction of 6th street and Minnesota Avenue.

(KANSAS CITY, Ks.) In order to reduce the risk of exposure for the safety of BPU customers and employees, the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has closed all facilities to the public until further notice.

The BPU Board of Directors will hold a special session on Tuesday February 9th at 5:00 p.m. which will be conducted via telephone and the Internet and will move into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel and labor issues.

The public may access this meeting through the telephone to listen in and if they have access to the Internet, they can also click on Zoom Meeting.

BPU’s water department was originally created in 1909, and its electric utility was operational in 1912. The purpose of the utility, then and to this day, is to provide the highest quality electric and water services at the lowest possible cost. Today the publicly owned utility serves approximately 63,000 electric and 53,000 water customers, primarily in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
