(Kansas City, KS) –The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) Golf Foundation has awarded $83,900 in grant funding to nonprofit organizations serving residents across Wyandotte County, supporting programs focused on education, youth development, housing stability, public safety, and community well-being
The grants are funded through proceeds from the annual BPU Charity Golf Tournament, which supports the work of the BPU Golf Foundation and aligns with BPU’s core values of stewardship and service, ensuring community resources are reinvested to strengthen the neighborhoods and customers that BPU serves. Since its inception in 1992, the BPU Charity Golf Tournament has raised nearly $1 million for nonprofit organizations serving Wyandotte County.
“Through the BPU Golf Foundation, our employees and partners can turn a day on the golf course into year-round impact for the community we serve,” said Jerin Purtee, chief operating officer at the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities. “These grants support organizations that are doing meaningful, on-the-ground work for Wyandotte County residents, and we’re proud to invest in efforts that strengthen education, stability, and opportunity across our community.”
