(Kansas City, KS)—The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is pleased to announce the selection of Karrie Glover as its new Customer Care Advisor, effective Monday, July 7, 2025.
Glover, a longtime BPU employee, brings nearly two decades of customer service and account management experience to the role. Since
joining BPU in 2006, she has served in multiple customer support positions across the organization, most recently as Lead Collection System Coordinator.
In that capacity, she managed high-volume billing and complex hardship interactions, developing a strong foundation for her new role.
As Customer Care Advisor, Glover will lead critical customer-facing programs including federal and state energy financial assistance, the Utility Assistance Program, and the BPU Hardship Fund. She will also represent BPU at public workshops, resource fairs, and community outreach events designed to connect customers with services and support.
“Karrie brings an essential combination of institutional knowledge, frontline experience, and empathy,” said Gabriela Freeman, Director of Customer Care. “Her ability to listen, connect, and find solutions makes her the right person to support our customers and help them navigate available resources.”
Glover’s appointment comes as BPU focuses on strengthening its commitment to customer care and community engagement. The addition of this role reflects a broader effort to improve how BPU connects with customers through responsive service, assistance programs, and in-person outreach.
